This Letter to the Editor appeared in the Shreveport TIMES Sunday, June 22, 08
titled Local Musician thankful for community support"
from Buddy Flett:

I wanted to write everyone a letter. I'm sitting on the bus with Kenny Wayne and Hubert Sumlin again. I can play one or two songs now. Y'all made this happen. Your support made this happen. I want everyone to know how much I appreciate them. I'm learning how to read, write and do arithmetic. I'm being taught how to talk again. Y'all are great. I'm the luckiest guy in the world with great friends.
