Absolutely, I have probably had more positive things said to meregarding them than any other aspect of the evening. To say they were popular would be an understatement. The fabulous Shreveport band Windstorm was again impressive when they played at the Elks Club last Saturday. The group features incredible musicians, two great lead vocalists and a total package that is rivaled by few others. The group formed in the latte 1980s. They’ve performed with the likes of Bobby Brown, Luther Vandross, H-Town, Usher and the Commodores. I could sit and watch guitarist Ron Johnson for hours, as I did Saturday night. He spent a little time with Ike & Tina Turner and others. He’s the epitome of cool when it comes to guitarists. Saturday he wore a black baseball cap, his trademark glasses and played his beautiful fender. When he joined in on the vocals he topped the four-party harmony. The lead vocalists out front are Ronald"Slack"Jefferson and Eric Hunter. Other members of the band are Reginald Harper on keyboards and vocals, Frank Monroe on bass, Charles Poma on drums and Alex Johnson on keyboards. Monroe played an 8-string bass Saturday night. They covered everything from Marvin Gaye, Earth, Wind & Fire, Cameo, Lakeside, Morris Day, Prince, Usher and many more. Congratulations to everyone at the Elks for putting on a wonderful show, which drew a full house.
